LSU freshman cornerback Kelvin Joseph did not travel with the team to Phoenix Thursday and will not play in the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl, coach Ed Orgeron said in a new conference upon the team’s arrival.
Orgeron said Joseph has been suspended for a “violation of team rules.”
Joseph appeared in all but one game in his debut season, totaling 12 tackles and two pass breakups.
LSU will now rely on Kary Vincent, Terrance Alexander and Mannie Netherly when the Tigers face UCF on Jan. 1. Orgeron said Vincent and Alexander will start.
