Cody Wells and Kathleen Bordelon will be the next Student Government president and vice president.
Wells and Bordelon, who headline the “Together LSU” campaign, beat out David Jones and Kacey Brister of the “Defining Our Future” ticket in the runoff election.
Wells-Bordelon won with 3,252 votes, or 57.4 percent. Jones-Brister collected 2,413 votes, or 42.6 percent.
Jones’ name was crossed out on the PowerPoint presentation, indicating he was disqualified from the race.
The SG Election Board disqualified Jones and Brister on Tuesday night for sending out unsolicited Facebook messages from a group that Jones created as a freshman.
Jones said he will not file an appeal.
