LSU junior defensive end Lavar Edwards, who was absent from Tuesday’s practice, was seen on campus Wednesday afternoon on crutches with a walking boot on his left foot.
Associate athletic director and sports information director Michael Bonnette said Edwards tweaked an ankle. Bonnette wasn’t sure when, but thinks the injury happened Saturday during LSU’s scrimmage.
“He’s wearing the boot for comfort. It’s no big deal.” Bonnette said. “It’s nothing more than a turned ankle.”
Edwards started six games last season, recording 19 tackles, four tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks.
LSU coach Les Miles won’t be available for comment until after Saturday’s practice.
