University student arrested for outstanding warrant March 1
LSU Police Department officers arrested a University student March 1 for an outstanding traffic warrant.
Police were performing stationary checks on Nicholson Drive at 10:06 a.m. when the License Plate Reader, or LPR, identified a vehicle with an outstanding traffic warrant, according to Sgt. Blake Tabor, LSUPD spokesman. Tabor said the vehicle was stopped and the driver was identified as Grace Harwell, 24, of 2808 Hundred Oaks Drive.
Police verified Harwell had an active warrant before she was arrested and taken to the LSUPD office for booking.
Tabor said Harwell was then transported to East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
LSUPD officers arrest man unaffiliated with University for outstanding warrant
LSUPD officers arrested a man unaffiliated with the University March 2 for driving with an outstanding warrant.
Tabor said police were conducting stationary checks on Nicholson Drive at 4:17 a.m. when the LPR device identified a vehicle with an outstanding traffic warrant. The officer performed a traffic stop and verified that the driver, Jarvis Miller, 31, of 7613 Highway 67 in Clinton, had an outstanding warrant with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Department.
Tabor said Miller was arrested and taken to the LSUPD office before being transported to East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
Man unaffiliated with the University arrested for three outstanding traffic warrants
LSUPD officers arrested a man unaffiliated with the University on March 2 for driving with three outstanding traffic warrants.
Police were using the LPR device to perform stationary checks on Nicholson Drive at 10:42 a.m. when a vehicle was identified for an outstanding warrant. The officer stopped the vehicle of Joseph Martin, 24, of 8541 Groveland Ave. in Dallas and verified Martin’s three fugitive traffic warrants, Tabor said.
He said Martin was arrested and taken to the LSUPD office before being transported to East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
Man unaffiliated with the University arrested for outstanding warrant March 3
LSUPD officers arrested a man unaffiliated with the University March 3 for an outstanding warrant.
Tabor said police were performing license plate scans on Nicholson Drive at 1:10 a.m. when the LPR device identified a vehicle with an outstanding traffic warrant. The officer stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Robbie Dorsey, 25, of 6136 Ingram Drive.
The officer verified Dorsey was driving with two outstanding traffic warrants before he was arrested and taken to the LSUPD office, Tabor said. Dorsey was then transported to East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
Take 5 employee arrested for outstanding warrant
LSUPD officers arrested a woman employed by the University’s Take 5 dining facility on March 3 for an outstanding warrant.
Officers were patrolling the area of Nicholson Drive and South Stadium Drive at 8:51 p.m. when a vehicle was seen driving without a license plate. Tabor said an officer stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Genie Johnson, 42, of 4545 Earl Gros Ave.
He said the officer discovered Johnson’s vehicle was not registered, she did not have a valid driver’s license and she had an outstanding warrant for the possession of marijuana.
Johnson was arrested and taken to the LSUPD office before being transported to East Baton Rouge Parish Prison, Tabor said.
University student stopped drunk in her path; arrested for DWI on March 4
LSUPD officers arrested a University student for DWI and a stopping, standing or parking offense on March 4.
Officers were patrolling the area of West Lakeshore Drive at 2:29 a.m. when a vehicle was seen stopped in the eastbound traffic lane. An officer stayed behind the vehicle for approximately one minute before approaching, Tabor said.
He said the officer approached the vehicle and identified the driver as Kaitlyn Ladner, 19, of 137 East Ruelle in Mandeville. The officer smelled a moderate alcoholic odor coming from Ladner’s breath and body, and she showed signs of intoxication, Tabor said.
After failing all three aspects of the field sobriety test, Ladner was arrested and taken to the LSUPD office where she refused to submit to a breathalyzer test.
Tabor said Ladner was later transported to East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
