The LSU baseball team lost both weekend series during spring break and was swept this weekend by No. 4 Vanderbilt.
LSU (24-17, 4-14) was outmanned by the powerful Commodore lineup. Vanderbilt (35-5, 14-4) notched 31 runs in the series, scoring at least 10 runs in each game, while LSU mustered 11 total runs.
Following two wins of eight runs or more against LSU, Vanderbilt capped the weekend sweep with a 10-7 victory Sunday after scoring six runs in the third inning and holding off a late Tiger comeback.
Each LSU starter surrendered at least five runs in each game this weekend. On Sunday, LSU allowed 20 hits to Vanderbilt’s potent offense.
The Tigers have dropped eight of their last nine Southeastern Conference games.
