Woman arrested for DWI, improper lane usage on Highland Road
LSU Police Department officers arrested a 29-year-old woman unaffiliated with the University on Jan. 27 for driving while intoxicated and improper lane usage on Highland Road.
Judith Ben-Judah, of 4110 Janet Ave., was driving on Highland Road when she traveled across the center line into the oncoming traffic lane at 2:26 a.m., according to Sgt. Blake Tabor, LSUPD spokesman.
Officers stopped Ben-Judah and gave her three sobriety tests, which she failed. She was transported to the LSUPD office, Tabor said.
Upon arrival to the office, Ben-Judah took a breathalyzer test showing she had a 0.162 blood alcohol content, Tabor said.
Ben-Judah was booked at East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
Student charged with possession of drugs, paraphernalia in car
LSUPD arrested a University student Jan. 27 for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
Justin Goldberger, 19, of 18140 Rolling Wood Drive, was parked in the LSU AgCenter Barn Lot on South Stadium Drive at 3:18 a.m. Goldberger had the headlights of his vehicle turned off but the tail lights on, Tabor said.
Officers approached the vehicle, smelled marijuana and called for the department’s K-9 unit, Tabor said.
The dog sensed drugs in Goldberger’s vehicle and officers conducted a search, finding 0.3 grams of marijuana, a pink Concerta pill, a silver grinder and pipes, Tabor said.
Goldberger was booked at EBR Parish Prison.
Man registers 0.178 BAC, charged with DWI and speeding
LSUPD arrested a man unaffiliated with the University on Jan. 30 for DWI and speeding on Nicholson Drive.
Officers stopped Steven Jones, 42, of 110 Leblanc St. in Ponchatoula, for traveling down Nicholson at 51 mph in a 35 mph zone, Tabor said.
Officers smelled alcohol and gave him field sobriety tests, which he failed. Jones was transported to the LSUPD office where his BAC was 0.178, Tabor said.
Jones was booked at EBR Parish Prison.
