LSU special teams/defensive line coach Joe Robinson has left the program, LSU coach Les Miles said Thursday.
Multiple outlets are reporting Robinson will become the defensive line coach at North Carolina.
Robinson was named the National Special Teams Coach of the Year by Footballscoop.com in December and spent three seasons at LSU.
“[Robinson] did a great job coaching our special teams in his three years with us,” Miles said in a news release. “We wish Joe and his family great success in their future endeavors.”
LSU ranked No. 2 in the Southeastern Conference in punt return average with 13.5 yards per return behind Patrick Peterson’s 16.1 yard average, also No. 2 in the conference. The Tigers were No. 3 in punting with a 39.2 yard average last season.
