Southeastern Louisiana fires football coach, no reasons provided

HAMMOND (AP) — Southeastern Louisiana University has fired football coach Mike Lucas, effective immediately.
The university announced Lucas’ dismissal Monday. It did not provide reasons for letting him go.
Although the program ended the 2011 season with a win, defeating in-state rival Nicholls State 31-14 last week, the Lions were 3-8 (1-6 Southland Conference) this year.
