For these two teams, the outcome of Saturday night’s game in Tuscaloosa could mean the difference in playing in the BCS National Championship Game, or the Allstate Sugar Bowl.
For LSU fans, it’s a chance to see their team take one step closer to a national title, while knocking off Alabama, and their coach, Nick Saban, whom LSU fans love to hate.
For Alabama fans, a win would make their team the favorite for the national title, and possibly help running back Trent Richardson’s Heisman campaign.
LSU is looking to extend their winning streak after pulling an upset over Alabama last year in Tiger Stadium, in a thrilling 24-21 matchup.
Alabama is looking for their third win in the last four games against LSU.
LSU is trying to erase the demons of facing Alabama on the road, after a controversial loss there in 2009.
Alabama wants to extend their home winning streak against LSU to two.
Both teams are just looking to keep on the path towards BCS glory.
A win keeps that dream alive, a loss means that the dream is pretty much over.
