The capital city is hosting an array of conferences, socials, boot camps and more for potential business owners and enterprising individuals from today until Nov. 19.
The first everBaton Rouge Entrepreneurship Week is being held during Global Entrepreneurship Week, a celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare.
Featuring five successful entrepreneurs and six speakers, the eight days of events will showcase the entrepreneurial culture of southern Louisiana.
Wendy Overton, assistant executive director of Continuing Education, is one of the organizers for the Startup Weekend taking place with Entrepreneurship Week, and the chair of the planning committee in collaboration with Regional Innovation Organization.
Overton said this week reflects the growing age of entrepreneurship for the Baton Rouge community.
“We’re going to see changes in the pace of innovation globally that is unheard of,” she said. “In Baton Rouge, we have the same level of innovation, the same tempo. This is a chance for us to talk about what it means deep down in the city’s core, with schools, businesses and path.”
A full events schedule and tickets can be accessed through the Baton Rouge Entrepreneurship Week website, www.brewingupideas.com, and students can get a discounted price in some cases.
