2:00 — The main entrance to the Himes Hall computer-based testing lab was blocked by police during the incident but was still accessible to students through alternate entrances, said David O’Brien, assistant director at the Centers for Excellence in Learning and Teaching.
Students who missed tests are encouraged to check the testing center website and reschedule exams for this afternoon or Tuesday morning, if possible, O’Brien said.
1:40 — The suitcase has been confirmed as empty by LSUPD.
1:35 — The situation has been resolved and LSU has given the “all clear” on the package in the quad, according to a text message released by LSUPD.
1:04 — A bomb squad has been called in and LSU police have advised people to stay away from the area until further notice.
12:37 — The package in question has been identified as a black suitcase.
Approximately 12:20 p.m. — The University released an emergency text message reporting that the LSU Police Department is investigating a “suspicious package near [Middleton] Library and Himes” in the Quad.
LSUPD advised the campus community to “avoid the area until further notice”
