LSU volleyball couldn’t hang with No. 23 Tennessee Friday in a matchup of the Southeastern Conference Eastern and Western division leaders. The Tigers (10-4, 3-1 SEC) fell 1-3 (17-25, 25-23, 21-25, 14-25) to the visiting Volunteers (12-12, 5-0 SEC) in front of a season-high crowd of 1,581.
Junior outside hitter Madie Jones and sophomore middle blocker Desiree Elliott led the Tigers with 11 kills each, while freshman outside hitter Helen Boyle added 9 more.
Freshman setter Malorie Pardo, the SEC assists leader, added 38 assists tonight on a .306 setting percentage.
The Tigers also racked up 13 blocks on the night, but that wasn’t enough to stop Tennessee’s Kelsey Robinson from putting away 20 kills.
LSU now prepares for Kentucky, who will visit the PMAC on Sunday.
