Recent college graduates shouldn’t sweat finding a job in Baton Rouge, according to a new study by employment firm ManpowerGroup, which led Forbes to rank Baton Rouge seventh in the country for employment outlook during October through December.
The study for 2011’s fourth quarter gives Baton Rouge an employment outlook of 12 percent, tied with neighboring cities New Orleans, Metairie and Kenner, and cities across the country like Boise City-Nampa, Idaho, and El Paso, Texas.
University economics professor emeritus Loren Scott said discoveries of natural gas acquisition techniques, like fracking, have contributed to Baton Rouge’s economic slope.
