Sophomore golfer Austin Ernst and freshman golfer Madeline Sagstrom made the list of 80 players from 20 countries competing in this year’s Spirit International Amateur Golf Championship in Trinity, Texas.
Ernst, the defending NCAA champion, will join the American squad along with three other national-champion golfers. The tournament teams feature two men and two women from each country represented.
The two Lady Tigers will not be playing together, however, as Sagstrom will be representing her home country of Sweden in the tournament.
Sagstrom said the opportunity to represent her native land gave her a lot of pride.
