The LSU Police Department is conducting an ongoing investigation following a reported armed robbery outside Chapel of the Cross Lutheran church on Dalrymple Drive.
The robbery occurred at about 9:10 p.m. Tuesday.
A 20 to 25-year-old black male wearing a black T-shirt was seen entering a white late ‘90s to early 2000s model sport utility vehicle and fled campus, said detective Jason Bettencourtt.
The SUV was headed toward Highland Road on Dalrymple Drive. when witnesses lost sight of the car around University High School, Bettencourtt said.
The suspect was also wearing red and black shorts with unkempt hair, according to a University broadcast email. He used a silver handgun and took personal items from a victim.
Bettencourtt said he could not release further details because the investigation is ongoing.
LSUPD encourages anyone with information about the robbery to contact the police department.
