Baton Rouge Police Armed Robbery detectives are investigating an armed bank robbery at the Captial One Bank at 3350 Highland Road, in the Northgate area, according to a BRPD news release. The robbery occurred at 1:54 p.m. Tuesday.
A white male with a large black book bag entered the bank with a handgun and demanded money from the teller, according to the release. The suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction after being given an undisclosed amount of cash, the release said.
Witnesses described the suspect as approximately six foot tall, wearing black pants, a black hooded sweat shirt with the word “Nike” on the front, black loafer shoes and white socks, according to the release. 
BRPD is asking anyone with information on the robbery to contact the Armed Robbery Division at 389-3845 or Crime Stoppers at 344-7867.
