The LSU Police Department released annual crime statistics for 2010 on Thursday, separating crimes on campus, off campus, on public property and at residential facilities.
According to the statistics, drug and liquor law offenses remained high in 2010, but arrests have steadily decreased since 2008. In 2010, 102 liquor law arrests were made, and 53 drug law arrests were made.
Additionally, a decrease in burglary on campus was reported, from 99 cases in 2008 to only 13 in 2010, the statistics showed. Burglary has also decreased at residential facilities.
On campus, 5 forcible sex offenses were reported, and 2 were reported off campus.
The statistics also showed significant amount of assault and motor vehicle cases on campus were reported.
