The search is under way for Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost Jack Hamilton’s successor.
Thomas Klei, chairman of the search committee, said the committee is in the first stages of pinpointing prospective candidates for Hamilton’s job.
The “broad-based” committee is composed of 18 people, two of whom are from the Flagship Coalition, a group of business people and citizens who advocate for the enhancement of the University’s Flagship Agenda, especially from a legislative standpoint. The rest of the committee represents the University on an administrative, faculty or student level.
Klei said the tentative target date to find a new provost is July 1.
