Shoppers will receive relief from the 4-percent state sales tax this weekend as the Louisiana Sales Tax Holiday rolls around again.
The Louisiana Department of Revenue orders the exemption to be applied to “all consumer purchases of tangible personal property,” according to its website.
This year’s holiday takes place Friday and Saturday and is applied to the first $2,500 of purchases.
Exceptions to the tax exemption include vehicles and restaurant dining.
