Woman unaffiliated with LSU arrested for identity theft, forgery
A 40-year-old-woman unaffiliated with the University was arrested Aug. 22 on charges of identity theft, six counts of forgery and theft exceeding $300, Lalonde said.
LSUPD officers investigated Aug. 2 reports of stolen checks from a University professor, leading to the arrest of Starla Whitehead of 27841 Lakeshore Drive in Walker, Lalonde said.
Lalonde said the professor’s Campus Federal Credit Union checks had been cashed off campus with signatures forged by Whitehead.
Whitehead was booked at East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
Man unaffiliated with LSU had warrant out, arrested for driving with suspended license
LSU Police Department officers arrested a 24-year-old man Aug. 19 after discovering a warrant was out for his arrest, said Capt. Cory Lalonde, LSUPD spokesman.
Officers stopped a vehicle at 12:15 a.m. and identified the driver as Jamaal R. Redditt, unaffiliated with the University, of 633 Winding Way Drive, Lalonde said.
It was discovered that Redditt was driving with a suspended license after a previous DWI, Lalonde said. Officers later found a warrant issued for his arrest after failing to appear in court.
Redditt was booked at East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
