The LSU volleyball team opened its season with two dominating wins on Friday.
The Tigers started off with a dominating 3-0 sweep over Alcorn State, (25-7, 25-14, 25-12) highlighted by strong performances from sophomore right side Nicole Willis and junior outside hitter Madie Jones.
Both sent home nine kills, which was a career best for Willis.
LSU continued the hot start with a 3-0 sweep of Louisiana- Lafayette (25-13, 25-13, 25-6), led by Preseason All-Southeastern Conference Team middle blocker duo Michele Williams and Desiree Elliott.
Freshman Malorie Pardo set the Tigers to a .638 team hitting percentage, an LSU single-match record.
Elliott racked up 14 kills, while Williams and Jones also tacked on 10 each.
