An armed robbery occurred at Highland Road and Maestri Drive early Wednesday morning, according to a University broadcast e-mail.
The suspect was carrying a revolver and is described as a black male at 5-foot-9 and 190 pounds wearing a purple LSU shirt, the e-mail said.
A University emergency text message said the suspect fled on foot down Highland Road.
Caution is advised to anyone located in the area, and others are encouraged to avoid the area until further notice, the e-mail said.
