LSU volleyball middle blockers Desiree Elliott and Michele Williams were named to the 2011 Preseason All-Southeastern Conference Team on Tuesday.
The duo accounted for more than 1/3 of LSU’s offense last year, combining for 600 kills. LSU, Florida and Kentucky are the only schools with multiple players selected to the team.
Elliott was an All-SEC First Team selection and the SEC Freshman of the Year. Williams garnered All-SEC Second-Team honors.
LSU, which has won six straight SEC Western Division titles, was selected as a unanimous choice to defend its SEC West crown in the annual coaches’ preseason pool.
