Tennessee junior defensive back Janzen Jackson has been dismissed from the football team, Volunteers coach Derek Dooley announced Wednesday.
Jackson, a Lake Charles native, has had disciplinary issues in the past. Dooley said in a statement Jackson’s actions “preclude him from the privilege of playing for the University of Tennessee football team.
“Although I’m disappointed with this outcome, we will never compromise the long-term organizational values and goals we maintain here at Tennessee,” Dooley said.
Coming out of high school, Jackson was an LSU commitment, but switched his commitment on Signing Day to the Volunteers.
