LSU junior forward LaSondra Barrett achieved a career milestone Monday while on the verge of another, as Barrett was named Southeastern Conference Player of the Week for the first time in her career.
Barrett scored 19 points, 17 in the first half, in LSU’s rout of Ole Miss on Thursday, and she recorded her 10th career double-double with 14 points, 10 rebounds (a career high) and eight assists (also a career high) in a victory against Florida on Sunday.
Barrett is just seven points away from 1,000 career points.
She had to be helped off the court against Florida with a left ankle injury, but she returned to the game to finish off her performance.
The Lady Tigers will face Arkansas this Thursday at 7 p.m. in the PMAC in the third of a four-game homestand.
