The White team, led by three LSU commits, suffered a last second defeat, 24-22, to the Red team Wednesday night at the ESPN Under Armour All-American Game. Future tiger Anthony Johnson, a five-star defensive tackle from New Orleans, blocked the first attempt at a game-winning field goal but was flagged for a formation penalty. Red team kicker Taylor Bertolet nailed his second attempt and gave his team the victory. “Oh yeah it’s not legitimate and those guys know it,” Johnson told ESPN’s Corey Long. “The whole thing was a big conspiracy. It was a great play call, and I blocked the kick. The White team was stacked, everyone knew it so the refs started cheating us.” Four-star wide receiver Jarvis Landry, a fellow member of the LSU’s 2011 recruiting class, earned the White team MVP award with eight catches for 70 yards and a touchdown. Five-star offensive tackle La’El Collins, the third member of LSU’s class to play in the game, played despite suffering an ankle injury on the first day of practices leading up to the game. Collins primarily lined up against Red team defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, the No. 1 overall prospect, and held his own. Collins earned the praise of his future teammate. “You guys saw when La’El was in the game that Clowney didn’t make any plays,” Johnson said. “That tells you what kind of player La’El is because everyone knows how good Clowney is.”
