Beth Torina, former softball coach of Florida International University, has been named LSU’s new softball coach, according to an Athletic Department news release. 
Torina brought FIU to a 129-111 record in four seasons and is a two-time Sun Belt Coach of the Year recipient. 
“We are extremely excited to welcome Beth to LSU and for her to take the leadership reigns of our softball program,” Alleva said in the release. “She brings great passion, energy and character to our program and will wear the purple and gold with pride!”
The Athletic Department will formally introduce Torina in a press conference set for 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Athletic Administration Building.
