A House Bill aiming to create a single board for Louisiana higher education was pulled from consideration by its author today, according to a University news release.
Thomas Carmody Jr., R-Shreveport, deferred the bill following a five-to-five dead lock in the House Education Committee, the release said.
A similar bill approved last week by the House Education Committee would call for a statewide vote on a constitutional amendment to create a single board for postsecondary institutions. The bill is pending in the House. —— Contact The Daily Reveille news staff at [email protected]
