LSU football coach Les Miles announced Thursday that senior quarterback Anthony Jennings has been granted a release and will transfer to another school to complete his final year of eligibility, according to an LSU Football news release.
Jennings posted a 9-4 record as a starting quarterback for the Tigers and is expected to remain at the University during the summer to complete his degree.
During his three years with LSU, Jennings started 13 of his 24 games and completed 124-of-256 passes for 1,792 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also added 310 yards and one touchdown on the ground.
“Anthony did a lot of really good things for our program,” Miles said. “As a freshman, he came in for an injured Zach Mettenberger and led us to a last-minute win over Arkansas and then he helped us to eight wins the following year as a sophomore.
“This is an opportunity for Anthony to put himself in a position to help another team have success. We wish him nothing but good fortune in the future, and we appreciate all that he did while he was part of our program.”
