Get ready, New Orleans! The international garage rock wave is coming your way and it is coming strong! On this upcoming Monday, March 14th, at the Hi-Ho Lounge in New Orleans, the Hinds and Goodbye Honolulu will be rocking the house!
The Hinds are an all-female indie garage rock band hailing from the beautiful Madrid, Spain. The Hinds first began as a duo between Carlotta Cosials and Ana García Perrote under the name “Deers.” After the addition of Ade Martín and Amber Grimbergen and a possible legal action suit over the similarity of their name (Deers) to Canadian indie rock band “The Dears”, the Hinds formed into their current fashion. Releasing their first album, Leave Me Alone, on January 8th, 2016, the Hinds embarked on a world tour, bringing them to the Big Easy on the second half of the tour. A few of the tracks from Leave Me Alone have been in the KLSU system since its release and have always delighted my ears when I caught them on air. Their fun, unique vocal styles and harmonies in addition to their laidback, Lo-Fi sound makes me ecstatic to finally see them in a live atmosphere.
Coming from the ever-popular Canadian city of Toronto, Goodbye Honolulu will be joining the Hinds as they tour the USA as well. Goodbye’s reputation in the Toronto live music scene is growing as one of the most intriguing new, young bands in that area. The band released their debut CD, Heavy Gold, in January 2016 and has released a new single, “Codeine”, on Spotify this week on March 7th. Goodbye Honolulu should make a great compliment to the Hinds on Monday night.
Don’t miss out on this awesome night!
