Ernest Bernard Felton, 22, has been arrested and booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of attempted second degree murder and illegal use of a weapon in connection with the shooting of a 24-year-old man at The Cottages, according to a BRPD news release.
Felton and the male victim exchanged gunfire, which investigators believe was the result of a “previous altercation,” as the male victim pulled his car into the apartment complex, according to the release.
Though Benton and January were struck during this exchange, investigators are awaiting the results of ballistic analysis to determine who is at fault for their deaths.
