Student struck near UREC squat rack due to argument over weightlifting
LSUPD spokesperson Lt. Kevin Scott said LSUPD responded to the UREC April 24 at 4 p.m. after student James Belt, 20, struck another student in the face near the squat rack due to a weightlifting disagreement. Scott said Belt was issued a misdemeanor summons for simple battery and released.
Student booked into prison after pending vehicle damage investigation
On April 25, LSUPD investigated two separate incidents from March 31 of student vehicle damage near the natatorium on Nicholson Drive and West Chimes Street, Scott said. According to the affidavit, student Tyler Cairns, 20, confessed to “slashing” all tires of both cars and was arrested and transported to East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for two counts of simple criminal damage.
