Two more juveniles arrested in ongoing case at Kirby Smith Hall
On April 15 at 10:35 a.m. LSUPD arrested a member of the group of six juveniles involved in an ongoing case from March for theft of a motor vehicle and unauthorized entry into Kirby Smith Hall, said LSUPD spokesperson Cpt. Marshall Walters. Walters said this member is the last to be arrested for auto theft and one of the five who broke into Kirby Smith Hall.
Walters said another member was arrested on April 19 at 11 a.m. for unauthorized entry into Kirby Smith Hall.
Walters said both members were taken to the Department of Juvenile Services Detention Center in East Baton Rouge Parish.
Student arrested for hit and run, DWI on campus
Walters said student Charles Hutton Jr., 19, was arrested and booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on April 15 at 9:33 p.m. for a hit and run, underaged driving while intoxicated and reckless operation of a motor vehicle. Walters said LSUPD officers were dispatched upon report of a hit and run in Blake Hall Parking Lot, received a description of the driver by the complainant and located Hutton hiding in his vehicle in Miller Hall Parking Lot. Walters said the complainant identified Hutton as the driver, who officers issued a sobriety test and found to have a blood alcohol content of 0.215 percent.
Non-student arrested at Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority house
Glynn Hyer Jr., 20, was arrested and booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on April 17 at 3:57 a.m. at the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority house for disturbing the peace by intoxication and possession of Schedule II narcotics, said Walters. According to the affidavit of probably cause, officers were dispatched upon complaints and found Hyer banging repeatedly on the Kappa Kappa Gamma house doors. No one in the Kappa Kappa Gamma house opened the doors at that time, though residents in the neighboring sorority house were awoken and disturbed by Hyer, who said he was there to take his girlfriend on a date, according to the affidavit.
Student arrested for unwarrantedly pulling fire alarm in West Laville Hall
Walters said student Bryant Soto, 20, was arrested on April 18 at 3:20 p.m. for criminal mischief. Walters said LSUPD and Baton Rouge Fire Department responded to West Laville Hall for an unwarrantedly activated fire alarm. Walters said officers reviewed video footage, identified Soto as the activator of the pull station and issued him a misdemeanor summons for criminal mischief.
