Despite the seven-month gap before the beginning of the 2016 football season, LSU announced its allotment of 20,000 tickets for the Tigers’ opener against Wisconsin on Sept. 3.
The history and myth permeating the home of the Green Packers is undeniable, yet Lambeau Field’s total capacity is 81,435 presents a problem for the Tiger faithful — 20, 478 less seats than Tiger Stadium.
The limited availability combined with the expected high-demand has LSU Associate Athletic Director for Ticket Operations Brian Broussard stressing the importance of limits and predicting none of the University’s 20,000 tickets will be available for sale to the public in a news release.
“We expect this to be one of the most in-demand tickets for a regular-season non-conference game that we have ever had,” Broussard said.
LSU season ticket holders will be sent ticket request forms for the Wisconsin game during April, which will be due before May 31, Broussard said.
With demand expected to outpace the number of tickets LSU receives for the game, Broussard said limits will have to be enforced and that the school does not anticipate any tickets to go on sale to the general public through the LSU allotment.
Broussard said tickets will be priced at $91, $104 or $118 depending the location of seat in the stadium.
Despite the limited supply, Broussard said there will be student tickets available at a lower price for the opener. More information regarding how students can receive these ticket will be distributed later in the spring.
