The LSU Bookstore closed at 1 p.m. due to weather, according to LSU Media Relations.
Media Relations also said Tiger Trails will stop running at 1:30 p.m.

East Baton Rouge Parish is under a tornado watch until 5 p.m. Tuesday evening. According to weather.com, the affected area could experience damaging winds, large hail and possibly tornadoes in some storms.

The UREC tweeted Tuesday morning that it all UREC facilities and programs will close at noon. The tweet said the closure is due to high winds and the severe weather, as well as the active construction site.
“Our primary concern is for the life safety of student staff and the campus community around our construction site,” a UREC tweet said.
LSU Libraries also tweeted that Middleton Library and the Hill Memorial Library will close due to the weather.
Update: 10:40 a.m. Tuesday
The LSU School of Veterinary Medicine Hospital will be open for emergencies, according to a tweet from the school. Third- and fourth-year students should attend their rotations as scheduled, according to a press release on the veterinary school’s website.

LSU Media Relations said the LSU Student Union and on-campus retail dining will close at noon. The 459 and The 5 will remain open.
The UREC tweeted that “all UREC programs will be closed this evening.”

University offices will close at noon today, according to a broadcast email from the LSU Division of Strategic Communications. All non-essential employees will be released from work at that time. LSU Media Relations said dining halls will remain open even with this update.

LSU Media Relations said Tuesday morning that the UREC is operating at normal hours “at this point in time.” All outside programs and swimming at the LSU Natatorium are cancelled.

All student services, such as Middleton Library and the Student Health Center, will remain open despite the weather, according to a broadcast email from the LSU Division of Strategic Communication. The email sad LSU “is closely monitoring the situation and will notify [students] via the emergency alert system in case of emergency.”

Dining halls across campus will remain open and maintain their normal hours of operation, LSU Media Relations confirmed Tuesday morning. The LSU Student Union will also have normal operating hours, but all student events and activities are cancelled after noon.

Tiger Trails will run reduced service for buses from 1:30-6 p.m. Tuesday and will resume regular service at 6 p.m., LSU Media Relations confirmed Monday night.

The University Testing Center in Himes Hall will open Tuesday morning as usual and check students in until 10:30 a.m., allowing those taking tests to be finished by noon, LSU Media Relations confirmed Monday night.
The University will also extend existing testing windows that were set to end tomorrow. All students set to take tests after 10:30 a.m. will be able to reschedule for Wednesday.

Due to widely predicted storms tomorrow, the University has cancelled all classes beginning noon Tuesday.
In a Tweet Monday night, LSU confirmed University offices would remain open. The University Laboratory School and the LSU Child Care Center will be closed all day Tuesday, according to a broadcast email to students sent shortly after.
Strong winds, thunderstorms and a 100 percent chance of precipitation are expected, according to a National Weather Service report for the Baton Rouge area.
