Ty Segall and the Muggers are coming to New Orleans this very Saturday, promoting their new album, Emotional Mugger.
Ty Segall is one rad dude. Aside from his successful solo career, he involves himself in many side projects, like playing drums for a band called Fuzz. Segall is a multi-instumentalist as well as a garage rocker. His music is often lo-fi, but very catchy and very loud. Emotional Mugger is his eight album under his own name – that doesn’t count records made with other bands.
Segall specializes in garage and psychedelic rock, but he can bounce from fast-paced punk to mellow indie with ease. Noted influencers include David Bowie, KISS, The Stooges, and Neil Young, as well as current groups like Thee Oh Sees (Segall and Thee Oh Sees frontman John Dwyer are good friends).
Should be a very headbangable show.
