Louisiana university students protested higher education cuts at the Louisiana state capitol Wednesday.
The “Bring the Heat,” or “Higher Education All Together,” rally included speeches from presidents from various universities.
“You are the future of this state, you are the economy of this state, and we want you to graduate as first priority as citizens of the state of Louisiana,” LSU President and Chancellor F. King Alexander said.
Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards made a surprise visit reassuring his support in the future of higher education. Edwards said he will be meeting with legislators to speak about issue also encouraged all students to vote.
