The LSU Student Union will not reopen Wednesday after a water valve burst early this morning.
Pending successful nighttime repairs, the Union will be open Thursday morning at its regular time, Union communication coordinator Heather Gulino said.
“Just for health and safety’s sake we decided to move everyone out of there,” said Union communication coordinator Heather Gulino. “We’re hoping to be up at some point today, but I cannot make any promises.”
LSU Media Relations Director Ernie Ballard said the water valve break resulted in no water to the building, so the food court and restrooms were inoperable. The burst also resulted in electrical issues in the building.
Gulino said all other campus dining locations are operating as normal and students can check the LSU Dining website for locations and hours.
