With the victory over then-No. 15 Texas A&M on Feb. 13, LSU has jolted from a No. 9 seed to a No. 7 seed in ESPN analyst Joe Lunardi’s newest Bracketology.
According to Lunardi’s projection, the Tigers (16-9, 9-3 Southeastern Conference) will face No. 10 seed Syracuse in St. Louis for LSU’s first round matchup in the South regional. In this scenario, the Tigers would face the winner of No. 1 seed Kansas and No. 16 seed North Florida, which LSU beat, 119-108, on Dec. 3.
In CBS analyst Jerry Palm’s newest Bracketology, the Tigers remain on the bubble, but Palm has LSU among the last four in. Palm projects the No. 11 seed Tigers would play No. 11 seed Connecticut in the First Four round of the tournament, located in Dayton, Ohio.
Lunardi has six other SEC teams making the tournament, which is tied for third among all conferences. Palm also has six league teams in his projection but has Alabama qualifying for the tournament instead of Vanderbilt, which is among Lunardi’s field of 68.
