In the hustle and bustle of holiday season, our surroundings are constantly changing. From the cooler weather to the food on the table, it’s easy to get carried away going through the motions.
Juggling school, upcoming finals and day-to-day activities, students can forget about self care. During this holiday season, be sure to take time to complete the checklist below to ensure you also take care of yourself.
1. Settle with a Sweet
Satisfy a craving and indulge yourself with a treat — maybe even try to create your favorite. Here is an easy Chocolate Walnut Pie recipe. It is simple to bake and absolutely delicious. This tasty pie also serves as a great dessert to contribute to Thanksgiving or Christmas feasts.
2. Take a Little TLC
It is okay to spoil yourself sometimes. Take a little time for tender loving care just for you. Have you been wanting a massage lately? Or have you not made it to the gym recently? No time is better than the present to start taking care of yourself.
3. Organization is Key
As the end of the fall semester quickly approaches, it is easy to get overwhelmed with final exams, papers and projects. Be sure to stay organized the next few weeks by making checklists and keeping up to date with your planner or Google Calendar.
4. Quality Time
Surround yourself with people who understand you, support you and want to see you thrive. Our lives can sometimes feel burdensome, and we forget that we are not alone. Spend quality time with the people you cherish not only on special occasions, but every day of the year.
It is not the holiday celebration that is most important, but the people who you share it with. Take the time to express how much they mean to you.
