LSU and Florida will be played in Gainesville, a University of Florida press release said Wednesday.
The universities will have a final decision on kickoff time by 1 p.m. on Thursday in regards to the approaching hurricane, which is expected to roll over Gainesville, Florida on Friday.
Florida’s main campus will be closed on Friday because of Hurricane Matthew.
“We are working closely with local, state and University officials as well as the Southeastern Conference office to monitor the progress of Hurricane Matthew and its potential on campus and the safety of the fans,” the release said.

As for LSU, coach Ed Orgeron is still preparing to duel the Gators in The Swamp on Saturday.
Orgeron isn’t worried about Hurricane Matthew. He’s focused on LSU and “Turnover Wednesday,” today’s practice theme, he said.
“I’m going to let the administrations handle that,” Orgeron answered on Wednesday’s Southeastern Conference weekly teleconference this morning as to if he knew any changed plans for the game time.
“It’s ‘Turnover Wednesday.’ We’re focused on going up there,” he added. “No plans have changed yet. If anything has changed, the administration will let me know.”
Orgeron said LSU is practicing “wet ball drills” this week to prepare for muddy and soggy conditions against Florida in The Swamp.
