LSU’s defensive backfield will be without a starter on Saturday against Southern Miss.
Senior safety Rickey Jefferson suffered a leg injury — possibly a broken ankle — in practice and could be out a significant amount of time, according to reports by The Advocate and NOLA.com.
The 5-foot-11, 198-pound safety has started five games this season at free safety and has 11 tackles and an interception this in 2016.
With Jefferson out, junior safety John Battle and senior cornerback Dwayne Thomas will likely see more playing time this season. Battle and Thomas have played in all five games this season.
Pray for me …
