Although they don’t face off on the football field until Nov. 19th, the LSU Lady Tigers faced off against the 9th ranked Florida Gators Friday.
The Lady Tigers lost in straight sets to the Gators.
Head Coach Fran Flory thinks one main reason her team lost is because of their struggles on offense.
“I was pleased with portions of it, but our passing broke down,” Flory said. “When your passing breaks down everything kinda goes to pot-poison.”
Flory does however think that there were some positives to take out of the match.
“I think that we saw that we could stand toe-to-toe with them for awhile,” Flory said.
Gina Tillis was a bright-spot for the Tigers, finishing with 12 kills, seven digs and two blocks.
“I knew i had to be tough and physical and go out there knowing i’m gonna clear every ball out the way,” Tillis said. “I went with that mentality and it worked.”
The Lady Tigers next match is Sunday, October 16, against the South Carolina Gamecocks.
