A quick setlist this week on More Than Noise featuring some cool more current acts like Cloud Nothings, Japandroids and WILD FLAG (lead by Sleater-Kinney’s Carrie Brownstein of the Riot-Grrrl scene).
Two songs in the middle of the playlist come from “Generic,” Flipper’s debut album released in 1981. Flipper remains one of my favorite bands of the ’80s – they heavily influenced much of the alternative and grunge scenes of the’90s. Nirvana and The Melvins both cite Flipper as a major inspiration, and Kurt Cobain lists “Generic” in his top 50 albums of all time.
