College GameDay is officially headed to Lambeau Field for LSU’s season-opener against Wisconsin, on Sept. 3 at 2:30 p.m.
It’s the first major college football game to be played in Lambeau Field’s history. The Tigers defeated Wisconsin 28-24 in 2014, at NRG Stadium in Houston.
The Green Bay Packers are paying the Badgers $3 million to play the game, according to a Packersnews.com.
“Lambeau Field is hailed as a football shrine and is as special of a venue as the game of football has to offer,” said Lee Fitting, ESPN senior coordinating producer in a press release by ESPN. “It is an honor to be able to stage College GameDay from Lambeau as we kick off this opening weekend filled with top-caliber games.”
Steve Levy, Brian Griese and Todd McShay will call the game.
