Senior tight end Dillon Gordon suffered injuries during a brawl inside of Reggie’s bar in Tigerland on early Tuesday morning, as confirmed by LSU and coach Les Miles on Tuesday.
According to a report by The Advocate, Gordon was stabbed three times after a brawl took place inside the nightclub. The report said the Edgard, Louisiana native was stabbed multiple times in possibly the chest, leg and abdomen and was removed from the bar via ambulance at roughly 1 a.m. Tuesday morning.
After the introductory press conference for LSU defensive coordinator Dave Aranda on Tuesday, Miles and LSU spokesman Michael Bonnette confirmed Gordon’s wounds aren’t life-threatening or considered to be a serious issue, saying the 308-pound tight end was “okay.”
“This evening out is not a serious issue in any way health wise,” Miles said of Gordon.
Miles said the Tigers are in search for a medical redshirt on Gordon’s behalf after the 22-year-old tight end re-injured his achilles against Florida on Oct. 17.
“He was one of the more physical, capable men on our offense,” Miles said. “We would love to see him return.”
As for the future of LSU players at bars and nightclub at any point of the year, Miles is suspending the leisure once and for all. Miles, though, did say the ban on bars or nightclubs was an “old rule” for the team.
“I’m cutting it off,” Miles said. “It’s just not worth it.”
