Bus driver involved in altercation with student
On Jan. 21, at 6:14 p.m. student Corey Bretz, 32, and non-student transit bus driver Hewitt Armstrong, 45, were arrested and issued misdemeanor summonses for disturbing the peace by fighting and were released, LSUPD spokesperson Marshall Walters said. Walters said Bretz wanted to get on a bus and struck it as it pulled away, causing it to stop and ensuing an argument. LSUPD officers were dispatched to Tower Dr. at South Stadium Rd. in call of a fight.
Female student arrested for marijuana possession
Walters said student Tiara Jones, 20, was arrested Jan. 22, at 10:55 p.m. for simple possession of 3.8 grams of marijuana. She was issued a misdemeanor summons and released, he said. LSUPD officers were dispatched for the smell of marijuana coming from an apartment at West Campus Apartments. Jones answered the door and admitted to smoking, Walters said.
Male student arrested for possession of 13.8 grams of marijuana
Student Michael Simoneaux, 18, was issued a misdemeanor summons Jan. 26, at 10:22 p.m. at Residential College West Hall for possession of a prescription pill bottle found on his dresser containing 13.8 grams of marijuana, Walters said. LSUPD were dispatched after reports of the smell, Simoneaux answered the door, the smell strengthened and he admitted to the crime, Walters said.
