While the LSU baseball team appeared at No. 7 in the first two preseason polls, it received a slight bump by a third preseason poll, which was released on Wednesday morning.
The Tigers found themselves at No. 5 in the Perfect Game preseason poll, joining three other Southeastern Conference teams in the top five. Like in the first two polls, Florida landed at No. 1 and Louisville checked in at No. 2. The Gators and Cardinals are followed by No. 3 Texas A&M and No. 4 Vanderbilt.
Only two other SEC teams — No. 15 Missouri and No. 17 Mississippi State — are in the top 25. But two more opponents on LSU’s 2016 schedule are ranked, No. 10 Louisiana-Lafayette and No. 24 Notre Dame.
