On Thursday afternoon, LSU athletic director Joe Alleva announced the addition of Southeastern Louisiana, Louisiana Tech and Rice to the 2018 LSU football non-conference schedule.
The Tigers had already scheduled a matchup with Miami on Sept. 1, 2018, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Along with the Hurricanes, LSU will now host Southeastern Louisiana on Sept. 8, Louisiana Tech on Oct. 20 and Rice on Nov. 17.
LSU has only played the Lions once in its history, which was a 48-7 win in 1949, but holds an 18-1 record against the Bulldogs all-time. In 55 contests with the Owls all-time, the Tigers lead, 37-13-5.
Game times have not been determined.
“We want to continue to schedule teams from our state when possible, which allows resources to remain in the state and the fans in Louisiana to experience the best venue in the country, Tiger Stadium,” Alleva said in a new release.
