John Frusciante, born in 1970 and raised in California, played guitar in The Red Hot Chili Peppers from 1987-1992 and again from 1999-2012, and has also been recording music with a plethora of other artists like Josh Klingoffer (current RHCP guitarist) and Omar Rodriguez-Lopes and releasing solo albums through every stage of his career. Known for his virtuosic playing on albums like Blood Sugar Sex Magik and Stadium Arcadium, Frusciante holds nothing back on his psychedelic rock influenced music, ripping solos like never before. However, much of his work is little more than him singing and strumming an acoustic guitar.
In recent years he has moved more and more into electronic music, combining the heavy groove oriented rock and funk music from his early life with the new technologies that have made it easy for a guitar player to transition to production. He still writes and records new music every day.
